Travel Tips for Ranthambhore National Park

While traveling to Ranthambore National Park, keeping some points in mind will ensure a more pleasant journey. National Park Ranthambore offers travel tips for travelers to Ranthambore National Park.

Clothing:
Depending on the weather, wear comfortable clothing in neutral colors. In summer wear comfortable cotton clothes in cream, khaki or muted browns and greens. In winter sweatshirts, sweaters, windcheaters, caps, gloves and scarves are required. At any time of year comfortable shoes, for walking or trekking, are the ideal footwear.

Further Expenses:

An entry fee is to be paid at the entrance to Ranthambore National Park. Cameras and video cameras are charged extra. There is also a fee for the vehicle and the guide. (These expenses may be included in the overall cost of your tour).

Transportation:

You can only enter the park in authorized vehicles. Jeeps that can accommodate 4 people, along with a driver and a guide, and small trucks called canters, which can accommodate around 15-20 people are available for hire outside the gates of the Ranthambore National Park.

Essential Equipment:
1> The summer sun can be very strong. A straw hat or sunshade, scarves, sunglasses and sunscreen are essential.

2> If you intend to take many pictures, bring extra rolls of film, memory cards for digital cameras and extra batteries.

3> A good pair of binoculars are very useful while on safari.

4> If you normally take any medication, bring an adequate supply with you. Though chemists' stores are easily accessible in India, your specific brand of medication may not be sold here or may have a generic variant sold under a different name.
